Simply put, a MakerSpace is a place where you can make things. It's a place for hands-on learning - with all the tools for creativity.
Visit us on Saturday May 14th at Franklin's Community Day Event at Odell Park!!!
From 10 am to 2pm Franklin Gear will have a pop-up makerspace at the Cottage in Odell Park. This was originally built so that the park's custodian lived in the park. It is a current home for Franklin Boy Scout Troup 61. Thanks go to the City of Franklin for letting us use it and to the Boy Scout for sharing their space for the day!
We will have several demonstrations taking place and you'll have a chance to meet Franklin Gear's Board of Directors and learn more about us and what's next!

Every MakerSpace is different; but you will find a woodshop, a fabric arts studio, machine shop, 3D printers ... and more! |

Note: These photos are examples from MakerSpaces around the country. Our space may look different and have a different assortment of equipment.
Might our space contain a bike building & repair station, robotics, or a kiln?
How about Fiber Arts? We are talking industrial-rated sewing machines, computer-driven embroidery, a loom . . . members have a say!
