Franklin, NH - The Winnipesaukee River cascades its way down Franklin Falls, snaking its way through the center of town, on its way to join the Pemigewasset. Together they form the mighty Merrimack River.
An ideal location for powering mills as the Industrial Revolution poured into the region. A small town formed in 1828, Franklin became a bustling manufacturing city by 1895.
By the middle of the 20th Century, like the waters of the Merrimack, quality manufacturing jobs steadily flowed south. Many of the mills are gone, reclaimed by the rivers.
The citizens of this proud city have never given up. You can’t keep a Franklin Girl or a Franklin Guy down for long. They have survived on pure relentlessness and this city is on the rise.
